In the case of Western style, the handle material is first secured with a jig and rivet holes are drilled. Then, rivets are driven in with an air press machine to fix the handle material to the blade tang.

​Japanese style knives are prepared by burning the handle hole with a hot iron bar. While preparing the blade distortion, Tang is carefully hammered into the handle hole and glued.
